Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of objects do you create?
I create symbolic ceramic artefacts shaped through intuition, ritual, and slow making. Each piece is intended as a vessel for meaning — not just decorative, but relational, contemplative, and alive with presence.
Are the pieces functional or purely symbolic?
While I do create functional pieces (like Incense Burners & Ritual Vessels) my main focus lies on the symbolic meaning of them. They are meant to be companions for reflection and inner work, to embellish your home and to serve as a reminder of your own relationship with yourself and the otherworldly.
What inspires your work?
Relationships, inner landscapes, and moments of transformation are central sources of inspiration for my work. The energy of connection moves through me like currents, and the act of creation becomes a way of translating emotional and spiritual experience into form.
In shaping that form, I am deeply influenced by the natural world and by Japanese aesthetics, which first ignited my passion for ceramics. Living on the edge of a large industrial area in Germany, I am also drawn to the precision of the mechanical realm — a fascination that finds its way into many of my pieces.
What do you mean by spiritual practice?
My spiritual practice is the quiet stream beneath my work. Some years ago I’ve found my way to faith and I practice trusting in that energy every day. While I do think everyone needs to find their own set of tools, mine consist of meditation, mantras and prayer.
Is each piece unique?
Yes. Every artifact is one of a kind. Even when forms echo one another, each piece carries its own process, timing, and inner movement. As my work is a reflection of my own inner world, my work too is always in motion. To quote Heraclitus: “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.”
How are the pieces made?
Each piece is hand-built and shaped slowly. I work with intention, patience, and openness, allowing the process to guide the final form rather than imposing a fixed outcome. As I focus solely on being creative rather than productive I work slowly and have a small yearly output.
Why is your work so costly?
For my work to nourish me, it has to be sustainable. My intuition and creative energy only flow in a no- to low-stress environment, and my process is slow, intentional, and limited in output. This means I create only a small number of pieces each year.
Ceramics is also a costly craft — in materials, time, and care. All of this is reflected in the pricing.
I understand the frustration that can arise when a piece feels out of reach or a larger work isn’t affordable. I try to make my work as accessible as possible while also creating a system that allows me to continue this practice in a way that sustains me.
If you can’t afford any of my work, you’re still very welcome here. You can always reach out, and I’m happy to share high-quality photographs you can use for your desktop or print for yourself.
Do you accept commissions?
Right now, I don’t. My work is deeply personal and intuitive. I do believe others are much better suited for lending their craftsmanship to others. My focus lies on my intuitive way of working.
How should I care for my artifact?
Treat it with the same care you would give to any meaningful object. Handle gently, clean softly, and it can last a lifetime — or even longer. One of the beauties of ceramics is its ability to endure for centuries. For pieces embellished with glass, I recommend being especially careful, as glass is not as durable as ceramic. To clean your artefact, simply rinse it under water and gently pat dry with a soft cloth.
What about shipping?
Whilst I do try to ship worldwide, some countries can be difficult to ship to. Shipping information, locations and timing are listed with each collection. You can always reach out if you have specific questions. Shipping usually takes 1-3 business days. I do ship uninsured, if you prefer an insured shipping make sure to reach out for me. The cost of shipping will be handled by the buyer. Please also inform about extra costs/tax that come from receiving an international package.
What if I feel unsure before choosing?
Uncertainty is welcome. You are invited to pause, return, and listen. The right moment — and the right piece — will make itself known.
